A star named after Ali Fazal

Fans are known to come up with unique ways to shower love on their favourite movie stars.

Thanks to one such eager admirer, Fukrey actor Ali Fazal now finds himself, quite literally, in the august company of celestial bodies. An unnamed Canadian fan of the actor, recently got a star registered in his name and even sent across the International Star Registry Certificate to him.

Now, we’ll soon have an Ali Fazal in the sky too, after the telescopic coordinates are registered in the International Star Registry’s vault in Switzerland. Needless to say, the 29-year-old actor is overwhelmed with the recent turn of events. “I was amazed when my manager informed me about the certificate. I didn’t believe him until I was back in Mumbai to see it myself,” he told Mirror from Marrakech.

Isn’t he curious to know who this special fan is? “Yes, I’d most definitely want to meet her and take her for a rooftop dinner so we could gaze at the other Ali!” he says, adding that as kids his brother and he loved star-gazing at night with an eye always out for the shooting star. “We would name the stars after our favourite superheroes and now I have one named after me.”
